The Arizona Solar Center, a non-profit, non-partisan collaboration of government, universities, utilities, and the solar industry, whose mission is to promote the use and utilization of solar energy in Arizona, sponsored Solar Energy – My Way, June 20, 2013. The presentation, part of the City of Scottsdale’s Green Building Lectures, featured Dan Catlin, author of Solar Photovoltaic System Economic Analysis for the Electric Energy Consumer.
Catlin, a long-time residential solar consumer as well as a retired environmental quality professional, discussed commercial installations, the upcoming decline of coal energy generation, the fall in photovoltaic costs as well subsidies and incentives. He also demonstrated the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s region-specific performance calulator for grid-connected photovoltaic systems.
The American Solar Energy Society also sponsored this presentation. As a member, Argent Solar proudly supports ASES’ mission “to inspire an era of energy innovation and speed the transition to a sustainable energy economy.”
